The ODA loan commitments include a loan worth $410.2 million from the Asian Development Bank for a project to build the 51km HCM City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
Japan has also committed to provide $900 million in ODA loans to help Viet Nam implement four projects, including one to build a 11.5km stretch of the 41.5km urban rail line that will run from Noi Bai International Airport in northern Ha Noi to Ha Dong in the southwestern part of the city; and another for the second phase of a project to upgrade the national road network that will repair or replace bridges and improve the maintenance system of the network.
Total ODA capital disbursement in the first four months reached $300 million, equal to 16 per cent of this year’s target, according to the ministry. Of the disbursed capital, $239 million and $61 million were part of loans and non-refundable aid, respectively.
