Francois Carpentier, General Director of Alstom Vietnam recently said that in 2009, Alstom plans to concentrate on carrying out two key power projects namely Nhon Trach 1 with a capacity of 460 MW and Sean 4 (360 MW).

Based on the strategic demand of Vietnam for infrastructure, his firm will continue provide technical consultancy and support to customers for all development stages of energy, railway and urban traffic projects, he confirmed.

Alstom Vietnam is under France’s Alstom Group specialising in supplying equipments for railway sector and energy.

Despite difficulties caused by the global economic crisis, in the fiscal year from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009, Alstom maintained a sustainable group with a rise of 5 percent in number of orders, 11 percent in turnover compared with the previous fiscal year. The achieved profit of Alstom grew by 8.2 percent year on year thanks to the 19 percent increase in earnings from business, bringing a total profit of 1.1 billion euro in the period.
