The festival will focus on fairs to introduce products,   seminars  , exhibitions and a rice trading floor to create favourable conditions for businesses to purchase and export rice .   

The 2009 Rice Festival is scheduled to take place on November 26-28, 2009 in Vi Thanh commune, Hau Giang province.

The event aims to honour and increase the profile of Vietnam’s rice and promote it as a high-quality trademark on the world market and also to encourage production and exports, contribute to socio-economic development and raise the living standards of people.
