Australian Minister for Trade Simon Crean will chair the 8 th meeting of the Joint Trade and Economic Cooperation Committee (JTECC) of Vietnam and Australia in Hanoi on July 24.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on July 19 that the meeting, to be co-chaired by Vietnam’s Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc, will discuss key sectors in the bilateral relationship, namely education and training; infrastructure and environmental management; financial services; energy, oil and gas; and agribusiness.

“As we progress towards implementation of the ASEAN-Australia New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, I look forward to discussing its practical contribution to the bilateral trade and investment relationship with Vietnam ,” Minister Crean said in a media release.

The Australian Trade Minister will be accompanied to Vietnam by a business delegation, and will also visit Ho Chi Minh City on July 25-26.

Before departing to Vietnam , the Australian minister will visit Singapore to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Trade from July 21-22 and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Roundtable on Sustainable Development on July 23.
