Such dialogs would be the main part of the meeting scheduled for December 12 in HCMC, said Nguyen Hong Linh, deputy director general of the Department of External Relations in HCMC under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The department is working with the economic division of the ministry over plans to organize such an important meeting efficiently.
Linh told reporters on Tuesday that group dialogues would be arranged for the heads of Vietnamese diplomatic organizations and business representatives who want to look into the markets and regions where the diplomats are working.
The primary objective is to help Vietnamese companies grasp the opportunity to boost exports to their target markets as well as learn about the policies and legal procedures at a certain market before they want to enter it.
Linh said 30 to 35 ambassadors, consuls general and other heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad would attend the meeting to provide participating businesses with updated information about the market and regions that they were based.
The meeting is expected to attract 120 exporting companies in HCMC and other southern provinces including Binh Duong and Dong Nai. However, Linh stressed companies of other fields were welcomed to the meeting, not for exporters only.
Linh advised those businesses wanting to participate in the event to register with the business associations they belong to.
A deputy minister or an ambassador of this level will clarify diplomatic corps’ duties to support export increase and help local enterprises at the meeting. Leaders of the People’s Committees and relevant agencies of HCMC and other southern localities will attend the event to answer questions.
