The plant, the largest of its kind in the country, has an investment of VND288 billion (USD16 million). Earlier this year, the province also allowed the Netherlands-Vietnam Coffee Co. Ltd to build a plant to process 100,000 tons of coffee beans a year and the Trung Nguyen Coffee Company to build a plant to process powder coffee and instant coffee.
To attract investors, Dak Lak province has had numerous preferential policies on infrastructure development, land rental and labour training. The province also work with businesses to provide fundings to help coffee growers build processing establishments and store houses to improve the quality of coffee for export.
Dak Lak is the country’s biggest coffee grower and producer with over 180,000 hectares of coffee trees, turning out about 450,000 tonnes of coffee beans a year.
