According to Dr. Ho Thuy Ngoc, from Foreign Trade University, protecting trademarks will have a fundamental and positive effect. After building their trademark, businesses need to register them immediately to obtain their intellectual property rights in the country where they plan to do business. Trademarks will be protected within 10 years and will be extended many times. However, before entering a foreign market, businesses have to ensure that their trademarks have not been used or protected before.
Another expert added that protecting trademarks is one of decisive factors in the increasing value of products as well as that of business and the whole national economy.
