| Vietnam’s seven key export items decrease in price in Sept. | |
The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has recently reported that amongst 15 export commodities with 60 percent of the country’s total export turnover, seven decreased in price in September. Accordingly, items decreased in price including seafood, cashew nut, tea, coal, crude oil, rubber and footwear. In particular, the export price of aquatic products and tea declined 0.6 percent, rubber and apparel products decreased by 0.4 percent and footwear export prices fell 1.4 percent. Notably, electricity wire and cable decreased in price for the second consecutive month. In eight remaining commodities, five of them increased in price for two straight months, including pepper, rice, plastic products, wood and wooden products and apparel products. Totally, in the first nine months of this year, the common price index of 15 export items increased 19.5 percent from the same period last year. The increase of over 50 percent was for export items such as agricultural products, pepper, rubber, tea and cashew. | |
