The three metre wide pedestrian overpass contains two spans, including a 25 metre long span over Pham Ngoc Thach Street and a 22 metre long span over Luong Dinh Cua Street. The overpass aims to reduce pedestrian accidents and ease traffic congestion.

The overpass was built at a total cost of VND9 billion (US$432,900) and completed after eight months of construction.

The Lac Trung Bridge, running towards Lac Trung and Thanh Nhan streets, is 24 metres long and 22.5 metres wide, with a maximum weight capacity of 30 tonnes. It is expected to help ease traffic jams on Kim Nguu and Minh Khai streets.

The construction of the bridge began in early 2012 with a total investment of VND14 billion (US$673,400).

The two new bridges are part of the city’s efforts to upgrade its transport infrastructure and address traffic problems.
