Quang Ninh People’s Committee on September 13 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) phase 2 with Italy- Thailand Public Technology Development Co (Thailand) phase 2 on researching and designing the investment plan and technical design-drawing for Ha Long – Mong Cai highway.

Accordingly, total investment is expected to reach $2.1 billion (by BOT, BT or PPP method). Its length will be 134 km with 6 lanes of which 4 lanes will be carried out in the early period.

The project will be connected with Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh highway system which will reduce the local traffic distance from other provinces to Mong Cai international border gate and create advantages to develop the Northern economy.
