The Australia–Vietnam Business Council (AVBC) held a get-together in Sydney on April 4 to further bolster trade links between the two countries.

Addressing the event, which is part of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam–Australia diplomat ties, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Hoang Vinh Thanh affirmed that the two countries will continue reaping successes, especially in bilateral trade thanks to close cooperation.

Former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Allaster Cox stressed that Vietnam is an important partner of Australia , adding that the two countries need to enhance their partnership in an ever-changing world.

Cox said the bilateral trade achievements are yet to match the two countries’ relations.

AVBC Chairman Laurence Strano said 6 billion USD in two-way trade last year is an impressive achievement.

On the occasion, numerous Australian firms expressed their delight at doing business in Vietnam . Many businesspeople expressed their hope that two-way trade will continue to grow.-VNA
