| Prime Minister approves upgrade of Vinh airport | ||

1/22/2015 10:34:50 AM The Prime Minister has approved a proposal to upgrade Vinh airport in the central province of Nghe An into an international airport by 2020, with a vision extending to 2030.
The proposed Vinh international airport has been designed to handle 2.5 million passengers per year by 2020, with seven parking areas for large aircraft, including the A320, A321 and ART72. In 2014, the airport welcomed 1.25 million passengers, reaching the highest growth nationwide, with an average growth rate of 43.89 per cent per year during a 13-year period. The upgrade is expected to promote socio-economic development in the province, in particular, and the north-central region, in general. | ||
