The agency said that the shipments accounted for 20.7 percent of Vietnam’s total export revenue, which reached more than $82 billion in the same period, posting a 5.7 percent increase year-on-year.
Garment ranked 2nd with nearly $11 billion, up 6.4 percent over last year.
Computers, electronics and parts ranked 3rd with nearly $7.9 billion, followed by shoes with $6.3 billion and wood and wood products with $3.2 billion
Exports of other commodities, which contributed significantly to total export value two years ago, have seen a sharp decline.
Crude oil export gained more than $1.1 billion, down by nearly 47 percent over last year. Export of cameras and parts earned the same amount, a year-on-year decrease of nearly 7 percent.
