The mill has a designed capacity of 550,000 tons of embryo steel and 500,000 tons of rolled steel a year; in addition, material loading port is 2 million per year in capacity. It’s estimated that the manufactory will take into operation in 2013, with the total investment capital of USD 200-250 million.
Currently, there is only Tay Do steel plant in The Mekong River delta with the manufacturing capacity of 120.000 tons per year. Therefore, only Tay Do can not meet demand of basic building in the region, and it takes a lot of time and expenses to transfer steel from the North and the Central to the South, said by Mr Le Phu Hung, Vice Director of VNSTEEL.
