Nike, the US’s leading supplier of sporting equipments and garment, announced that it will stop placing additional orders at Samho Vietnam-a footwear manufacturing plant in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City in the next 6-12 months.

Nike’s representative in Viet Nam said that the corporation will work with its partner to offer reasonable redundancy allowances for the laid off workers. He also said that Nike will continue with its existing orders so that Samho Viet Nam has time to find new orders.

Several domestic garments makers said that Nike and other overseas clothing importers have reduced the amount of orders from Viet Nam by 15-30%.
