Covering 40,000 square meters at Ba Thien 2 Industrial Park, Binh Xuyen District, the facility will produce electronic components for producers of TVs, computer screens, mobile phones and electronic shelf labels, with a month capacity of 20 million products.
The project, which received an investment certificate in February this year, belongs to the electronics supporting industry in which the provincial government is calling for investment. The factory has created jobs for 1,500 workers and is forecast to generate export revenue of US$300 million in 2017, reports Vinh Phuc online newspaper.
In a related development, Bang Joo Electronics Vietnam Co Ltd, an affiliate of South Korea’s Bang Joo Group specializing in cameras, inaugurated a second electronic components factory at Ba Thien Industrial Park early this month.
When it was founded in 2014, the company had total investment capital of US$40 million but with the second facility up and running, its capital has risen to US$70 million.
More South Korean investors have come to the province’s industrial parks to set up shop, according to the province’s industrial parks authority.
