At the end of 2020, Binh Thuan People’s Committee announced the investment policy of Becamex VSIP Binh Thuan Industrial - Service - Urban Project in La Gi and Ham Tan. This is a joint venture investment project between Becamex IDC Corporation (Vietnam) and companies led by Sembcorp Development (Singapore). The project has an area of ​​​​up to 4,984 ha through investment phases: phase 1 (2020 - 2023) with 715 ha, phase 2 (2021 - 2030) will invest the remaining area of ​​4,269 ha, total investment of billions of USD.

Binh Thuan currently has 9 industrial parks with a total scale of 3,000 ha, including the 100 ha Phan Thiet industrial park; Tuy Phong industrial park 150 ha; Ham Kiem industrial park nearly 600 ha, Binh river industrial park 300 ha, Tan Duc industrial park 150 ha, Son My 1 industrial park over 1,000 ha and Son My 2 nearly 600 ha. Preliminarily, the scale of 9 existing industrial parks in Binh Thuan is half the size of Becamex VSIP Binh Thuan.

The investment plan for Becamex VSIP Binh Thuan industrial park is expected to attract hundreds of domestic and foreign businesses to come here, helping the province attract billions of dollars of investment capital. The two localities La Gi and Ham Tan will also benefit greatly from this project. Especially, La Gi town, with many billion-dollar investment projects in the area, promises to become the largest economic center in the southern region of Binh Thuan.

Taking advantage of the investment wave, the real estate market in this area has begun to be active. In which, La Gi town is the destination of a series of real estate businesses.

Investors forecast that the La Gi real estate market will develop unprecedentedly. In which complexes, residential areas, coastal real estate in service of tourism, resorts, commercial and service centers, logistics centers, warehouses serving industry,... are said to be will attract customers who want to settle down or invest.

According to Dr. Tran Nguyen Minh Hai, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, large enterprises choose La Gi and Ham Tan to deploy a large industrial park in Binh Thuan, demonstrating the great potential of this area. La Gi is a locality with many advantages in Binh Thuan to develop the real estate market when converging all the factors of natural time - location - human harmony. A series of levers on infrastructure, administrative upgrades, and investment attraction all took place simultaneously before La Gi moved to the city.

La Gi is attracting strong investment capital with a series of billion-dollar projects. Many large domestic and foreign corporations such as AES (Virginia, USA), Becamex - VSIP joint venture, Danh Khoi,... have been investing in a series of large-scale projects in the South Binh Thuan area. According to Binh Thuan newspaper, La Gi town currently has 40 valid tourism investment projects with a total area of ​​​​about 565 hectares, with a total registered investment capital of about VND 3,411 billion.

Besides, traffic infrastructure works beneficial for the development of La Gi were simultaneously implemented. Currently, the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway is the most important project. Among the areas of Binh Thuan that have highways passing through, La Gi is the locality that benefits the most thanks to its gateway location, the first place where the highway must pass before reaching Ke Ga, Mui Ne, and Phan Thiet.

To increase thrust for the southern region, Binh Thuan is also urgently deploying two roads connecting Dau Giay - Phan Thiet highway to Ham Tan and then straight to La Gi. Thanks to these works, the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to La Gi is only about 1.5 hours; 1 hour from Phan Thiet airport or Long Thanh airport to La Gi.

Recently, Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee has agreed to propose to upgrade La Gi town to become a city directly under the province and carry out upgrading and expanding important roads. Local leaders also affirmed that La Gi is an important area in the southern economic development of the province and connects with Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
