Long An International Port project cluster is planned on 1,935 hectares in Can Giuoc district, Long An province, and started to provide container handling services from the end of June after eight years of construction.

According to Baochinhphu.vn, the Long An International Port project cluster is planned for 1,935 hectares in Can Giuoc district, Long An province, including 396 hectares of industry, 239 hectares of services - industry, 1,145 hectares of urban areas, 147 hectares of seaports, and ancillary works and utilities.

The port was started in 2015, after eight years of construction, Dongtam Group (the investor) assembled 7 berths on June 24 and opened a container handling service besides traditional products such as agricultural and aquatic products, fertilizers, iron and steel, machinery and equipment, and super-heavy and super-heavy items.

The total length of the current 7 wharfs is 1,670 m. In the coming period, the port will continue to expand to include a wharf specializing in exploiting liquid and liquefied petroleum gas, three mooring buoys, and a center to welcome large-sized cruise ships. The port will have a total of 10 berths with a total length of nearly 2,400 m, capable of receiving ships of 100,000 tons.

Long An international port has an investment capital of more than 500 million USD, currently has a warehouse system with an area of ​​​​one million m2, equipped with a system of modern exploitation equipment.

During the period of both construction and exploitation, Long An International Port receives ships with a tonnage of up to 70,000 tons. Cargo through the port in the period 2021-2022 will reach about 2 million tons per year.
