Overview

Vung Tau is the largest gas oil center of Vietnam, having Vietsovpetro joint venture company, is the symbol for prosperity of Vietnam gas & oil industry, and is also the symbol of friendship between Russia and Vietnam. gas & oil industry occupies a big proportion in total value of industrial production. Today, most of capacity of Vietnam gas & oil (PetroVietnam) locate in Vung Tau city, and their most of petroleum and gasoline products are also exploited at Vung Tau sea.

Vung Tau has Dong Xuyen industrial park with area 160ha, not far from city center, has completed infrastructure system. This industrial park is mostly for gas & oil project, shipping service, shipping repair and non-poisonous industries.

Fishing and processing seafood are Vung Tau’s traditional trades. With 1400 means and total capacity 10.000 CV, Vung Tau annually exploits from 42 to 45 thousand tons seafoods.

The average annual temperature is 27^oC, The lowest temperature is 24.8^oC, The highest temperature is 28.6^oC. The yearly average sunshine received is about 2,400 hours. The average annual rainfall is about 1,500 mm.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau lies in the monsoon tropical zone.

The province has two seasons: Rainny season and Dry season.

Rainny season: from May to October, having West – South monsoon.

Dry season: from November to April, having North-East monsoon.

Industry: Ba Ria – Vung Tau has 7 Industrial parks (IP): Dong Xuyen IP, Phu My I IP, My Xuan A IP, widen My Xuan A IP, My Xuan A2 IP, My Xuan B1 IP, Cai Mep IP. These 7 IPs have been approved by Government and developed their infrastructure (scrape, making roads, electricity, water supply and drainage, support items…). On the other hand, the developer has carrying out procedure of leasing land for licensed projects including Phu My I IP with planning area over 954,4ha, commercial land area 651ha; Dong Xuyen IP with planning area 160,8ha, commercial land area 104,3ha; My Xuan A IP with planning area 122,6ha, commercial land area 75,2ha; My Xuan A2 IP with planning area 312,8ha, commercial land area 222,9ha; My Xuan B1 with planning area 222,8ha, commercial land area 140ha; Cai Mep IP with planning area 670ha; My Xuan A IP widened 146,6ha.

Tourism

Coast line (excluding many islands) 156 km long, 72 km of which are convered with white sand very ideal for tourists; many mountains, hills, sand dunes, forests of pines and primeval forest along the coast (17,000 ha)...

Ba Ria – Vung Tau has about 150km seashore with beautiful swimming beaches, long sandy shore, clear water all year round, such as: Back, Front, Dau beach, Dua beach (Vung Tau city), Long Hai (Long Dat Dist), Ho Coc, Ho Tram (Xuyen Moc DIst), and Con Dao island. Connecting closely to beaches are primitive forests such as Binh Chau – Phuoc Buu with area 11293ha, Binh Chau Hot Spring, Con Dao National Park (6043ha) with rich flora and fauna. Especially, historical Con Dao prison system, perfect natural condition and abundant system of historic and cultural relics, famous landscapes are tourism resources that Ba Ria – Vung Tau owned and preserved with its prudential care.
