Under the adjusted plan, the metro line would depart from a main station located in front of Trung Vuong Theatre and arrive at the Hue T-junction. It would extend to Lien Chieu District and to the southern part of the city. The city’s Construction Department has asked the local Planning and Construction Institute to adjust the master plan to 2030 with a vision to 2050.

Many stops along the metro route would be built, including one at the March 29 Park where the construction of the city’s first underground parking lot was already underway.

The main route of the city’s Bus Rapid Transit system would run from Son Tra District to Hoi An, while other routes would link Son Tra District with the city centre, the Ba Na Hills resort, industrial parks, university areas and tourist attractions.

Under the plan, the Da Nang Railway Station would be moved to Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Minh Ward and the old Nuoc Man helicopter base would be developed into a tourist airport by 2050. The city also targets expansion of the international airport by 2050.

In addition, the Tien Sa and Lien Chieu ports would be upgraded, and a pedestrian bridge over the Han River as well as new bridges over the Cam Le River would be built.

Residential areas, including Thien Park, Golden Hills City and Hoa Xuan, would be developed into satellite urban areas.

The plan also calls for expansion of tourism infrastructure, including the building of more resorts, golf courses, casinos and seaside facilities.

The city also wants a ring road to be built in the southern part of the city. The road would begin at Truong Sa Street, would have junctions with 1A and 14B highways, and DT 604 and DT601 streets.

The road would connect with Hoa Lien Commune and the Lien Chieu-Dung Quat Expressway, as well as the extended Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.

The road system along the East-West Economic Corridor would be built with a focus on the 14B Highway that links Sekong and Champasak provinces in Laos and connects to Thailand.
