Adjusting general planning of Thanh Hoa city up to 2040
Date: 10/1/2018 9:01:56 AM
In September 2018, a conference on appraisal of the general planning of Thanh Hoa city by 2040, was held at Ministry of Construction. Vice Minister of Construction Phan Thi My Linh presided over the conference.

The revised master plan for Thanh Hoa city up to 2025 with a vision to 2035 was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 84 / QĐ-TTg dated 16/01/2009. However, after 9 years of implementation, the general plan of Thanh Hoa City has exposed limitations, inadequacies, no longer fit with reality, requiring adjustment of overall planning.

Especifically, the urban space organization has not met the development requirements. The approved master plan did not link the investment resources to create a space for development as well as not connect and exploit outstanding features to create competitiveness and form a regional urban brand. In addition, the urban infrastructure had some inadequacies that need to be adjusted such as the density and traffic congestion during peak hours, urban drainage.

From that fact, the adjustment of general planning Thanh Hoa City is necessary. The proposed study area covers the entire administrative boundaries of Thanh Hoa City with study area of 232.64 km2. The objective of the master plan is to enhance the role of Thanh Hoa city as a hub linking the North Central region with the Red River Delta, Northwestern Vietnam and Northeast of Laos.

Thanh Hoa city with a vision to be a civilized, modern, intelligent and identity urban area, meeting the requirements of green growth and adaptation to climate change, building urban brands.
