Long Hau Industrial Zone Tapping Potential to Attract Investment

Long Hau Industrial Zone (IZ) of Long Hau Joint Stock Company located in Long Hau Commune, Can Giuoc district, Long An province bordering Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City, was planned under decision 1107/QD TTg dated August 21st 2006 of the Prime Minister.

It is the multi-sector industrial park with industrial development strategy. Road and sea transportation network connects many key economic regions between Long An and Ho Chi Minh City, the eastern and western provinces.

 
Long Hau IP is only 3 km to Saigon Central Container Terminal and Sai Gon - Hiep Phuoc Port, 12 km to the Phu My Hung Urban Area, 19 km to the Centre of Ho Chi Minh City and 25 km to Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The transport system is planned to link other regions such as National Highway 1A to the Western Province - Saigon - Trung Luong, Long Hau – Tan Tap - Highway 50 to the West, Phu My Bridge to the Eastern provinces, System 4 city ring road of Ho Chi Minh City - inter-regional South highway. Specifically, it connects with the most important water transportation system of Ho Chi Minh City: Saigon – Nha Be- western provinces-southern provinces -East Sea which is favourable for freight, import, export, not only shortens time but also minimizes cost to contribute to competitiveness. At the same time, it helps enterprises easily access technical and social infrastructure, labour and human resources and professional services of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as creates favourable conditions for foreign affairs, cooperation, trade and links between businesses.
 
Long Hau IP currently has completed infrastructure system; road surface is leveled at 1.8 m height with a complete lighting system, high-speed fibre optic technology, Long Hau underground water system and stable Ho Chi Minh City water supply system as well as a standard waste processing system. In 2013, the company advocates to submit Long An to deploy investment expansion project of Long Hau Industrial Park with an area of 145ha, bringing the total area of Long Hau Industrial Park from 288 ha to 433ha with over 120 businesses, including 39 100-percent Japanese owned businesses, 66 enterprises of Vietnam or joint venture, the remaining firms from South Korea, Singapore, Europe and elsewhere, accounting for more than 70 percent of all the IP.
 
Besides, Long Hau IP also has residences for 5000 workers, employees and experts with full facilities such as markets, mini supermarkets and amusement parks contributing for sustainable development in the life of workers in particular and business activities in general. The IP regularly organizes programs to develop relationships between businesses in the industrial park to build the business community, supporting the consumption of plant products in the IP, enhancing brand reputation of the business community at home and abroad. Besides the IP will link with the educational institutions to organize short-term classes such as labour law, working styles and training classes. To meet the highly qualified workforce demand adaptive with the development of society in the integration period, Long Hau IP established Center for Human Resource Development which aims to be associated with a number of professional colleges to train in Long Hau IP.
 
Thanks to its relentless efforts, Long Hau JSC was honoured to receive a series of certificates of merit such as ISO 9001:2008 Certificate, ISO 14001:2004, Best Excellent Business of Long An Province (2008), gold cup "For the cause of environmental protection in Vietnam" (2009), the National Quality Gold Award 2009, Merit of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung for the construction socialism and national defence, Asia - Pacific Quality Awards for Perfect Business Model, the 3rd Labour Medal and Enterprise for environmental protection (2010 ). In the near future, Long Hau IP will be the most effective investment destination for the enterprises, paving the way for the socio-economic development of the country.
