Vinh Phuc province is in the Red River delta, the Northern key economic zone and the Hanoi area. Vinh Phuc has many important roads: road, rail, river, and near Noi Bai International Airport. Vinh Phuc is a land with a long history - ancient culture, with hundreds of famous historical and cultural association. People have a tradition of industriousness, studious, intelligent, creative and dynamic.

Geographical location:

 Vinh Phuc is situated in the Northwest gate of Hanoi, in Red River Delta, which is one of the seven provinces of the Northern key economic zone, adjacent to the following areas:
            + Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces in the North.
            +  Phu Tho Province in the West.  
            + Hanoi in the East and South.

Climate:

 Vinh Phuc is situated in a tropical monsoon climate, with two distinct seasons: the rainy season (from April to November) and dry season (November to March).

The average annual temperature is 22.1 ^oC, average humidity is 84 - 85%, the number of hours of sunshine during the year 1400-1800 hours.

In general, climate and weather is very stable, with no major disasters. 

Terrain:

Vinh Phuc has varied terrain, lower from the Northwest to the Southeast, with fully featured three ecological zones: lowland, midland and mountainous.

This terrain is favorable for the development of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, industry,  tourism and services.

Transport systems are relatively developed and diversified.

          Highway 2: Hanoi - Ha Giang runs through the territory of Vinh Phuc more than 50 km, parallel to the Hanoi - Lao Cai railway through Vinh Phuc. Highway 2B from Vinh Yen to Tam Dao resort,  highway 2C from Vinh Yen through Tam Duong, Lap Thach, Song Lo to Tuyen Quang. These are the strategic route to social and economic development of the North.

           Besides, the lines from the plains to mountainous areas are also plentiful, such as line 12, 13, 23, 40, 129 ... with a total length of 302 km.

       Waterway system is also noticed and quite developed, especially in the Red River and Lo River systems. Vinh Phuc has several porks as: Chu Phan, Duc Bat, Vinh Thinh, Nhu Thuy.

          By air, Noi Bai International Airport is the most important international airport in the Northern region.

          Also, Vinh Phuc has Ha Noi - LaoCai railway running along the province.

         The economic structure is shifting towards increasing the share of industry - construction and services, reducing the proportion of agriculture, forestry and fishery.

         From 2005 onwards, the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and the Human Development Index (HDI) of Vinh Phuc are always ranked in the top 10 leading provinces and cities of Vietnam.

          By the end of 2011, the province has attracted 681 projects, including 127 FDI projects with total investment of over U.S. $ 2.420,9 billion and 554 DDI projects with total registered investment capital of VND 32.829,8 billion. Many enterprises produced highly effective, early recovery of capital investment and continued to expand production scale at Vinh Phuc.

          Vinh Phuc Province has been the Prime Minister's approval of development plans 20 Industrial Parks in 2020, with an area of nearly 6.000 hectares; priorities to develop mechanical industrial cars, motorcycles;high-tech electronics industry; industrial production of building materials and light materials; industrial tradition.
