Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong visited VSIP Bac Ninh

Singapore’s Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Vietnam’s Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh today visited Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Bac Ninh, outlining the close economic relationship between the two countries.
Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Bac Ninh is the first place Tong has visited in Vietnam in a four-day official visit to this country under the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, starting from today.
VSIP Bac Ninh is a part of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Company, better known as VSIP, in Vietnam. This is a joint venture between Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries and Vietnam’s Becamex Corporation. The joint venture is considered as an iconic for the economic cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.
Established in 2007, VSIP Bac Ninh covers an area of 700 hectares, including 500 hectares of industrial land and 200 hectares of township. Till now, the industrial park attracted 51 companies from Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Europe, the US and South Korea, with the total investment capital of $1.13 billion. Some of companies are Nokia, Foster, Dreamtech, Pepsico and Mapletree.
Apart from VSIP Bac Ninh, VSIP is also developing four other industrial park and township complexes in Haiphong, Binh Duong and Quang Ngai.
