Vinhomes Joint Stock Company under  Vingroup  has submitted a document to Ha Tinh province for survey, research and planning to invest in building an automobile and component factory combined with a 2,000-hectare seaport in the economic zone. Crappy.

Specifically, according to the proposal, Vingroup will survey and build an automobile factory complex including VinFast automobile factory, a chain of factories producing auxiliary components for the automotive industry and equipment. high-tech audiovisual.

In addition, the company is expected to combine the construction of a seaport and a logistics area to serve the needs of sea transportation for the factory and build a hotel resort. The project is expected to have an estimated scale of 2,000 hectares in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh. In which, the land area is 1,500 ha, the sea surface area is 500 ha.

Phase one is expected to be built within two years from the date of approval for construction and phase two will take place 3-5 years after phase one comes into operation.

Vingroup’s proposal to open a new factory attracted attention because the company previously owned a VinFast automobile production complex with a scale of up to 335 hectares in Dinh Vu industrial park, Cat Hai, Hai Phong. into operation from June 2019.

This complex has a capacity of up to 250,000 vehicles/year in phase one and 500,000 vehicles in phase two. The electric motorcycle factory alone can increase to 1 million vehicles per year. But many times talking to the media, a representative of Vingroup said that the complex is still operating below design capacity.

Talking to the writer, a representative of VinFast confirmed this information, but said that this is only a policy proposal to Ha Tinh province. "Waiting for the province to agree on the owner, set up a survey team to evaluate and then decide whether to deploy or not," a VinFast representative shared.

Regarding VinFast’s production activities, recently, according to an exclusive source from Reuters, Foxconn - the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, has proposed to buy VinFast’s electric car production line. . However, VinFast showed a preference for cooperation rather than being acquired.

A representative of Vingroup said that Vingroup has received a proposal from Foxconn, but nothing specific has been said yet. This partnership, if any, will focus on the production of batteries and components for electric cars.

On the Foxconn side, the company has outlined a plan to become the main supplier of parts and services in the global electric vehicle market. The goal is to provide components or services for 10% of the world’s electric vehicles, by 2025 at the earliest.

In addition to the above project, Vingroup has recently made moves to "pour money" into Ha Tinh, which is the hometown of Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong.
