Vietnam is about to have another VSIP industrial park worth more than 2,200 billion VND
The Peoples Committee of Nam Dinh province has just approved the investment policy and accepted the investor for the project to build and operate the infrastructure of Hai Long Industrial Park (VSIP Nam Dinh) phase 1.
The first phase of the project has a scale of 180 hectares, implemented in Giao Thuy district with a total estimated investment capital of about VND 2,249 billion. Of which, the investors capital contribution is more than VND 337 billion. Vietnam - Singapore Urban and Industrial Zone Development Joint Stock Company (VSIP JSC) will take on the role of investor. This is a subsidiary of Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited (VSIP).
According to the plan, the project will start construction in the third quarter or early fourth quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. The projects operating period is 50 years from the date the investor is allocated land.
Hai Long Industrial Park has a total area of nearly 1,070 hectares, spread over four communes including Bach Long, Giao Long, Giao Chau and Giao Nhan in Giao Thuy district. According to the planning approved by the Peoples Committee of Nam Dinh province, the project will be developed in phases, in which phase 1 with an area of 180 hectares will focus on attracting investors to build infrastructure.
VSIP is a joint venture between the Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (Becamex IDC - BCM) and Sembcorp Development Ltd (Singapore), in which the Singaporean side holds 51% of the shares. To date, VSIP has developed 14 industrial parks in Vietnam, creating jobs for more than 300,000 workers.
Currently, Nam Dinh has Ninh Co economic zone and six operating industrial parks including Hoa Xa, My Trung, Bao Minh, Bao Minh expansion, Rang Dong Textile and My Thuan. According to the development plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the province plans to expand 10 more industrial parks and develop many new industrial clusters in nine districts and cities.
