Can Tho People’s Committee has recently worked with Viet Nam National Shipping Lines Corp (Vinalines) about the three projects implemented in the area.
Vinalines is preparing to carry out phase 2 of Cai Cui Port project with a scale of 3 wharves that can receive two 20,000 dwt container carriers at the same time. The estimated cost for the project was about 830 billion dong (for the period of 2009-2012).
The company is also the main contractor of Logistics storage project with total investment capital of about 600 billion dong (for the period of 2009-2015).
At present, Vinalines is promoting the construction project of the Shipping Commerce & Information Centre on the site of 4 hectares in Can Tho City. In order to carry out the three above mentioned projects, Vinalines has demanded the local authorities to finish the site leasing contract of 17 hectares at Cai Cui Port, to grant the Planning Certificate and to support the ground clearance work for the Logistics Storage project.
