With a population of 90 million and high growth rate, Vietnam is a promising market to Brazil’s businesses, said Rommel Barion, vice president of the Federation of Industries of the State of Parana at a seminar on trade and investment opportunities between Vietnam and Parana, Brazil held in Curitiba on June 24.
He said the International Business Centre (CIN), under the Federation of Industries of the State of Parana, will send a delegation to Vietnam in October to learn more about the market and opportunities for business cooperation.
CIN seeks to promote trade in the Asian region, particularly China, India, Singapore and Vietnam.
Parana State is the third largest in Brazil in terms of exports to Vietnam. Last year the State’s export volume reached US$41 million, making up 12 percent of Brazil’s total exports to Vietnam.
The state also ranks 7th as an importer of Vietnamese goods, representing 4 percent of the country’s imports from Vietnam.
Parana State mainly exports wood, frozen chicken and silk fibre to Vietnam.
