Vietnamese cities and towns will focus on increasing cooperation for sustainable development in the near future, according to the Association of Cities of Vietnam (ACVN).
Vietnamese urban areas step up int’l cooperation.
The ACVN said at a press briefing on November 2 that it is conducting an EU-funded 30-month project to enhance the public’s involvement in the state management of Vietnamese cities through the ACVN.
A good example of effective international cooperation can be seen in five joint projects between the Vietnamese cities of Nam Dinh, Tuy Hoa, Lang Son, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh and five Canadian cities.
These projects are focused on new and interesting issues such as information technology in registering and collecting land taxes, waste management, urban immigration, and tourism development.
The ACVN has maintained and expanded cooperative ties with many other international organizations and city associations in countries such as Canada, Germany and the Republic of Korea.
