An international exhibition on telecommunications, information technology and electronic products opens today at the HCM City International Exhibition Centre.
In co-operation with Mobifone, Orange France Telecom, which wants to become a strategic partner of a mobile operator in Viet Nam, will showcase a wide range of cutting-edge technology products, especially its 3G services.
This 12th exhibition, co-organised by the Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Hong Kongs Adsale Exhibition Services, attracted around 200 exhibitors from 17 countries and territories, including the US, France, Australia, Canada, Japan, India, mainland China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Viet Nam.
Mainland China, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan will have their own pavilions.
Participants include big names such as Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, EVN Telecom, Hutchison Global Communications, Motorola, Samsung, NTT DOCOMO, Vinaphone and MobiFone.
Products will be displayed in an area of over 6,000sq.m.
Some of the hottest items are 3G, Wimax and satellite services, according to Adsales Chairman Stanley Chew. Other exhibits include HSPA (high speed package access), mobile digital entertainment, IPTV (internet protocol television), communications networks, management software and information security.

Visitors will be able to touch and play with innovative 3D and mobile entertainment products and will have access to fast connections to web resources.
Concurrent seminars will be held to provide in-depth sharing in industry development and technology innovations.
One seminar will be devoted to market development and business opportunities in the Viet Nam ICT market on Wednesday and a symposium on communications technology and innovation and convergence will be held on Friday. They will take place at Movenpick Hotel at 253 Nguyen Van Troi Street.
The expo will run until Friday.
