Turkey wants to raise trade to US$1 billion with Vietnam

Turkey wants to boost cooperation with Vietnam to raise two-way trade to US$1 billion in 2010, says Deputy Foreign Minister Unal Cevikoz.
The diplomat stated this at the first political consultation meeting between Turkey and Vietnam in Hanoi during his visit on January 19-21. The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Doan Xuan Hung.
Mr Cevikoz and Mr Hung briefed each other on socio-economic development in their respective countries and discussed measures to boost bilateral cooperation, especially in economics and trade. They also touched upon regional and international issues of mutual concern.
They shared the view that as both country have huge potential for cooperation, they should make a greater effort to increase the efficiency of economic-trade ties.
Mr Cevikoz praised Vietnam’s development achievements during the Renewal process as well as its increasing role in the world arena.
While staying in Hanoi, Mr Cevikoz held a working session with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and visited some economic and cultural establishments in the capital city.
