Construction work on construction of a series of infrastructure projects with funding from Vietnam’s Hoang Anh-Gia Lai group started in Attapeu province, southern Laos, on May 11.
Total cost of the projects, which include a 200-bed hospital, a 100m long bridge, 250 houses and an administrative centre for Phu Vong district, amount to US$30 million.
Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Lao Vice Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavad emphasised that the projects not only aims to boost Attapeu province’s economic development but shows the close friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The Hoang Anh Gia Lai group took the opportunity to donate 1 billion LAK (about 120,000 USD) to five districts in Attapeu province.
