PM approves Hoanh Mo border gate economic zone plan

The Prime Minister on June 30 gave the nod to a master development plan for the Hoanh Mo-Dong Van border gate economic zone in the northern province of Quang Ninh by 2030.
The plan aims to turn the Hoanh Mo-Dong Van border gate economic zone into an important gateway of traffic in the Gulf of Tonkin economic belt and an international commercial transit hub.
The 14,236 ha economic zone is also expected to become a multi-sector one and an economic, cultural, tourism and service centre of Quang Ninh’s northern border area.
The zone’s population is expected to reach 8,000-10,000 by 2020 and 12,000-14,000 by 2030.
