The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) announced Friday it would fund Vietnam $3.5 million to help it strengthen policy development capacity, according to a UNDP press release.
“Vietnam’s future challenges will best be addressed with solid research and analysis that will offer a sound understanding of all the social and economic realities,” said UNDP Deputy Country Director Christophe Bahuet.
The money will be used to help build the capacity of researchers of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in three areas: research management, human development research and policy advocacy.
The project - “Support for Effective project Policy Making through the Development of Scientific Evidenced Based Research” will also provide researchers with opportunities to apply the skills through the preparation of a National Human Development Report.
