Vietnam Star’s Mercedes-Benz Gallery in Ho Chi Minh City was built with an investment of US$5 million.
Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd, the sole shareholder of Vietnam Star Automobile Ltd and the investor in the Vietnam Star Mercedes-Benz Autohaus network, recently opened a new Autohaus in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The new Mercedes-Benz Brand Gallery was established with an investment of US$5 million (RM15.14 million) from Vietnam Star, Hap Seng Star Sdn Bhds unit and authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer in Vietnam, and is ranked as a flagship Autohaus 600, according to the global standards of Daimler AG, the owner of the Mercedes-Benz marque.
In a statement, Hap Seng group managing director Datuk Edward Lee Ming Foo said the new outlet offers the entire range of world-class products and services from Mercedes-Benz.
"Vietnam is a fast-growing country and we are confident in the economic development. We see great potential in the development of the luxury segment in the short to mid-term. More people want to own premium, safe and fascinating cars of Mercedes-Benz, as well as have their cars serviced at Mercedes-Benz full sales and after-sales outlets available nationwide. We are committed to a long-term investment in Vietnam," he added.
Also present at the opening ceremony was Daimler president and CEO for Central/Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, Peter Alexander Trettin, who said Hap Seng Group was one of Mercedes-Benzs most important investment partners.
The brand gallery spreads over a three-level building with more than 4,400 sq m of usage space, accommodating up to 20 cars at a time in its showroom. It also has service capacity for over 20 cars per day.
