Date: 4/25/2009 11:40:00 AM
International Development Investment Joint Stock Company (IDI), set up in 2003, is an affiliated company of Sao Mai Conscorp. IDI and Sao Mai Conscorp have jointly taken part in many big construction, investment and real estate projects. Especially, IDI is known as a new emerging export seafood processor when it started building Vam Cong Industrial Complex in Dong Thap Province and three seafood processing factories for export with an individual capacity of 600 tonnes a day.

Human resource development policy
According to the company’s estimation, when the three factories started full operation, IDI will need around 9,000 employees. The company will need a large volume of skilled workers and experienced managers to operate the factories. To recruit high-profile figures, IDI is always ready to pay high salaries and offer good career promotion opportunities for capable, experienced and potential people. Besides, IDI always pays attention to human resource training and development. On the other hand, the company never forgets to improve the spiritual and material life of its employees; thus, it builds high-rise buildings in Vam Cong Industrial Complex for its employees.

Additionally, the policy of replacing managers with younger ones is a top concern of the company to enhance the activeness, enthusiasm and creativeness of intellectuals for the development of the company. Capable employees and managerial seeds are sent to study in reputable fishery schools and research institutes in Vietnam and other nations to learn more about GMP and SSOP regulations. This is one of the decisive factors for the future development of IDI.

Modern factories
IDI’s export seafood processing factories are installed production lines and technologies under the EU and Japanese criteria, which can satisfy all technical requirements and operate at high capacity. Although the first factory has been put into operation for nearly one year, its processing capacity has reached 300 tonnes of materials a day. In the near future, the production capacity will be raised to the designed level of 600 tonnes a day when all technical and human resource requirements are met. The remaining two factories will be built as planned by IDI. By the end of 2010, the three factories will take a total investment capital of US$150 million to reach the initially designed capacity of 1,800 tonnes of materials a day. Also in Vam Cong Industrial Complex, the company is investing to build a by-product processing factory at an investment of US$20 million. This facility will help increase its production efficiency.

World-class quality
Normally, aquatic product processing companies usually encounter numerous difficulties arising from tariff barriers, food safety and hygiene requirements. However, when the first factory of IDI started operations, these difficulties have not happen thanks to its modern facilities. With the operating principle of “Product quality is the foundation for the development,” IDI always brings high quality products with required levels of antibiotics and others to the markets, both domestic and international. Mr Le Thanh Thuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDI said: “The objective of IDI is to bring aquatic products of high quality and natural tastes to customers. Therefore, in addition to ensuring organic materials, we will maintain and improve the quality, sanitation and food safety management systems as well as environment protection in according to the international standards like ISO 9001:2000, BRC (2005), IFS (Vesion 4), HACCP, ISO 14001: 2004 and others.”

With what is happening in Vam Cong Industrial Complex, the leadership of IDI always believes that the company will never stop pursuing sustainable development objective and the proof is the presence of its products in most global markets
