Qatar is likely to invest about $4b in Vietnam’s real estate market. Le Hong Phan, Vietnam’s ambassador in Qatar shared this information in an interview with Gulf Times newspaper last weekend. Accordingly, Vietnam has signed with Qatar an agreement to construct a training centre. Its location also has been decided.

"This centre will focus on language skills training and other cultural matters in area, particularly in Qatar. Project’s target is to increase the number of Vietnamese labourers in Qatar in particular and other gulf countries in general,” – Phan also said that Qatar has provided 2 scholarships for Vietnam students nominated by government to study Arabic in Qatar University.

Phan also confirmed that in the near future one Vietnamese construction enterprise will open its offices in Doha capital in a joint venture with Qatar investor.

"This will help to increase Vietnamese labourers working in Qatar. Meanwhile, Qatari Diar is now carrying out many real estate projects in joint ventures with Vietnamese provinces. Negotiations are being made to construct multifunctional infrastructures, commercial centre; houses and hotel projects in Vietnam through joint ventures with Qataria Diar Real Estate Co. The parties have signed a memorandum on cooperation and next steps of implementing projects,” said Phan.
