Tenova Strip inks deal with SSSC for production of galvanized and color coated coils

Tenova Strip Processing has signed two contracts with Southern Steel Sheet Corporation, a JV of Vietnam Steel Group with Sumitomo and Federal Iron Works (Malaysia) for the production of high quality galvanized and color coated coils.
The project shall be completed in 26 months and is composed by:
The new project takes place at the new SSSC plant in the industrial zone of Nhon Phu in Dong Nai Province, 70 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City and was awarded during the Ceremony for the 17th Anniversary of SSSC foundation. During such event, SSSC celebrated the always improving sales figures obtained on the Market in 2011, thanks to high attention to quality of final products.
· A galvanizing line using cold rolled low carbon steel as feedstock to produce 150,000 tons per annum of aluminium zinc or zinc coated carbon coils
· A color coating line using galvanized products or cold rolled steel to produce 70,000 tons per annum of color coated coils
These two lines are based on the most sophisticated technologies to meet high quality demand in local market and neighboring countries, mainly for construction and architectural applications in tropical climatic conditions
Tenova, particularly sensitive to environmental aspects, takes advantage of the most advanced solutions in strict compliance with regulations and safety norms, in order to guarantee indexes of emissions in line with European or American standards.
Tenova took also advantage from a recent Vietnamese policy, which grants licenses only to new projects based on advanced technologies for products with high standards, ensuring a quick return on investment and respecting the environment and worker safety.
In recent years Tenova has been awarded other important projects in Vietnam, and in 2010 a representative office was opened in Ho Chi Minh City, in order to develop closer commercial relations in Vietnam and neighboring countries.
