Keppel Land Vietnam has said it is preparing to kick off work on a major project to build more than 6,400 homes in HCMC’s District 2.
Linson Lim, chairman of the company, said the Nam Rach Chiec project would provide the local housing market with about 6,430 apartments along with many retail stores, commercial center, school and healthcare facilities and others. The project will have total floor space of nearly one million square meters and the first phase will be put up for sale next year, Linson said.
The property developer is building the high-class Riviera Point condo project in District 7 consisting of 12 towers with around 2,400 homes. The first phase of the project is set for completion in 2015.
The Singaporean firm has just completed the first phases of the high-end The Estella apartment project, also in District 2. Similarly, it has completed the Riviera Cove villa project in District 9 and is handing over homes to homebuyers at the moment.
At the same time, the firm is closely working with District 2’s authorities to carry out site clearance and compensation for the Saigon Sports City urban project.
The company is working on the second and third phase of the Saigon Centre project on Le Loi Boulevard in District 1. The 45-floor building, when in place, will provide the market with about 50,000 square meters of retail space and 40,000 square meters of Grade A office space, plus around 200 serviced apartments. Keppel Land has struck a long-term leasing deal with Asian retail giant Takashimaya Singapore which will occupy around 15,000 square meters of retail space on five floors of the building.
Keppel Land now has 18 projects licensed in Vietnam with total investment capital of some US$2 billion. These projects are expected to offer five million square meters of floor space, or about 22,000 homes.
