Viet Nam is keen on attracting more investment from Japanese small- and medium-sized enterprises to help develop the nation’s support industries, President Truong Tan Sang said

Receiving Nakagaki Yoshihiko, Vice President of Japan’s International Friendship Exchange Council and Chairman of the Japan-Viet Nam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, in Ha Noi, he praised the progress made in economic, trade and investment ties between the two countries.

President Sang also said that Viet Nam looked forward to stronger economic integration that would happen with the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, to which Japan is a party.

He requested Japan to provide information about the demand and capacity of its businesses so that Vietnamese ministries and sectors can easily facilitate their access to ideal localities.

President Sang also pledged maximum efforts to accelerate the progress of key infrastructure projects funded by Japan, and facilitate the opening of new direct air routes between the two nations.

Yoshihiko expressed his appreciation of Viet Nam’s positive and stable economic situation as well as its potential for further investment and trade co-operation.

Japan was willing to work with Viet Nam in the development of support industries, infrastructure, power supply and vocational training, he said.

Japan also wished to expand successful educational and medical co-operation models in Viet Nam, he added.

Yoshihiko pledged that he and other members of the Japanese delegation would work to enhance investment co-operation with Vietnamese businesses towards pushing bilateral economic relations to meet their true potential.
