First solar products plant in Vietnam to be in operation

The first solar cell panel plant in Viet Nam will be officially inaugurated and put into operation on April 27th, 2009 by Mat Troi solar energy joint-stock company.
The plant is located at the Duc Hoa Ha Industrial Zone, Long An Province, and invested by Mat Troi, the Ho Chi Minh City Energy Saving Center, and Tan Ky Nguyen trade, technique and services company Ltd. According to the design, main products of the plant include solar cells and panels with capacity ranging from 80 Wp to 165 Wp and with an average life expectancy of 30 years.
All of its products will meet the European standards and be sold at prices around 35% lower than that of the same kind in the market.
Officials reported some 40% of the production will be sold in the domestic market and the rest will be exported to European and American markets.
Apart from solar cells and panels, the plant will also produce and assemble solar water heating systems, compact bulbs and other energy saving devices.
